Using our technical product expertise and understanding of HVAC systems, O'Dell assisted in developing a highly efficient approach to high heat yoga studios. Comparing the operational costs of this efficient facility design with a previous installations, the owner realized a savings of more than $1,600 in January 2011.
The Call
HIgh heat yoga facilities have extreme environments where participants exercise in temperature & humidity levels in excess of 105°F and 50% RH. While this provides a great workout, it really stretches the demands on the HVAC equipment. How do you maintain this environment and keep energy bills in check?
The Solution
The comparison facilities were in the same city and had very similarly sized yoga studios (~1,000-ft2) The following table outlines the systems that were in place at each facilty and their utlity costs:
