The new CTC warehouse has a specific hazardous material storage area (Boom Room!) that required properly covered, accurate gas detection for various flammable compounds.
The project required a depth of understanding of several volatile compounds and their molecular properties to ensure the safety of building occupants.
O’Dell was able to work with the engineer, Inviro Engineered Systems, and Critical Environment Technologies (CET) to determine the appropriate sensor type for a broad variety of hydrocarbons, giving the space the best possible coverage of compounds.
CET was able to take the project plans and provide a comprehensive design for complete coverage of the hazardous material room. This included the layout within the space as well as the most effective mounting height for proper sensing. This provided proper coverage for a highly sensitive area, with seamless integration into the ventilation strategy with the Heat/Vent AHUs.
The system O’Dell provided included (24) CET CXT explosion proof gas transmitters with infrared sensors for hydrocarbons tied to 3 control panels to cover the 43,000 ft2 area. Installation was completed by Brusan Heating & Air Conditioning with startup & commissioning by O’Dell factory authorized technical support.
